Rental & Utility Assistance

The Resilient Housing Initiative (aka the “RHI”) is designed to prevent homelessness and promote housing stability for extremely low-income Columbus residents facing homelessness. It is not for everyone. This program may be right for you if you have nowhere to go if you lose your current housing.

How it works: if you’re facing homelessness because you have no where safe to stay when you lose your housing, call the Homeless Hotline at 614-278-0080. The Hotline operators will screen you for eligibility for the program.

If you are eligible, a Housing Resource Specialist will contact you to help create a plan that can resolve the housing problems you’re facing. The Specialist will also identify resources that can help prevent you from needing to enter a homeless shelter.

Unfortunately, not everyone who is eligible can receive financial assistance. Because these resources are limited, eligible applicants that are seeking financial assistance will be entered into a lottery.
